Our Blackjack Calculator will help you to determine which blackjack game will provide you with the best opportunity to win. When utilizing the Blackjack Calculator, you will find that the casino's advantage can vary considerably based on the current rules in effect... from .23% to 2.48% which is a difference of 2.25%. Knowing this information will help you to eliminate long-term loses.

The following information denotes the basic blackjack rules that are offered at the majority of casinos.
  • Most shoe games use 6 decks of cards which have approximately a 75% penetration, which means the dealer cuts the shoe approximately 25% of the way from the rear of the shoe.

  • Blackjacks are paid 3 to 2... a $10 Bet will provide the player with a $15 Win.

  • Players will lose only their original bets when the dealer has a blackjack.

  • The dealer will stand (not take any additional cards) on a soft 17.

  • The player will be able to double-down after being dealt two cards.

  • The player is able to double-down after splitting their hand.

  • The player is able to resplit their hands to create a total of 2 hands.

  • When splitting Aces, the player is not allowed to hit after receiving 1 card on each Ace.

  • The majority of casinos do not offer Surrender as an option.
If you enter all of these options into the Blackjack Calculator, you will find that the House Edge is .73484% which is .5027% worse than the best scenario. This could easily make the difference between winning and losing at the blackjack tables.

Surrender: The majority of casinos do not provide the option for the player to surrender while playing blackjack. If offered, the player can surrender their hand and lose 50% of their bet after their cards have been dealt. The terms, Early and Late Surrender are based on the rules in effect when the dealer has a blackjack. If a player can surrender their hand before the dealer checks to see if he has a blackjack they will lose 50% of their bet. This is referred to as an Early Surrender. If the dealer checks his cards for a blackjack before a player is permitted to surrender, the player will lose 100% of their bet if the dealer has a blackjack. This is referred to as a Late Surrender.
